Where do I start? I am a 29 year old Aussie and I was first exposed to making money through affiliate products back in 2006 while working for an online newspaper. The website was new and while still trying to get advertisers, they monetised it with affiliate banners where we received a cost per click that we sent to the advertiser. I thought I had hit the jackpot! I was going to retire within the next few years after making my millions with my own affiliate websites.

How wrong I was. I had no idea what I was doing, picked topics that I would never rank on the tenth, nevermind the first page of Google and very quickly got frustrated at why it wasn’t working and pushed those ideas to the back burner. Over the past five years I have been continually learning about making money online – trying to figure out what works, what doesn’t. Whose genuine, whose not. You can only learn for so long though and it’s time to get out and do.

After floating through a few different jobs over the past few years from online advertising to hair regrowth to OH&S, I have made the decision to give this a real shot and have also given myself a deadline of 6 months to be making some kind of money from my websites. I was made redundant in June 2011 and am dedicating 6 months full time to creating niche websites. I have finally found a method which I think will genuinely work and am going to put into action to see if it will lead to me to my goal of earning a full time passive income.
